About the village of Teulada

Teulada is located in the Costa Blanca North region, near the coastal town of Moraira. It is a typical Spanish village with little tourism.

The discovery of a cave in Cap d’Or has shown that people settled here some 15,000 to 20,000 years before the beginning of the era. The village itself was only officially founded in 1386. The observation tower on the peninsula is a remnant of the time that Teulada was regularly the target of Barbary pirates (sixteenth century).

Up to the end of the last century, agriculture was still the most important source of income. From then on tourism increased enormously, which was mainly seen in the coastal town of Moraira. Few tourists can be spotted in Teulada itself. If you like the real Spanish life, we advise you to take a side street towards the center. It will surprise you what a nice quiet Spanish village you see. The historic center has beautiful narrow streets where no cars and advertising items can be found.

The beautiful architecture of the houses dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is certainly advisable to visit the "Iglesia de Santa Catarina" church. This dates from the 16th century and is only open during the services.

The "Ermita de la Divina Pastora" chapel is also worth a visit. It is estimated that it dates from the 15th century.
