About the town of Moraira

Moraira is located between the popular towns of Javea and Calpe and is originally a fishing village on the Costa Blanca. Moraira has a beautiful boulevard and 2 beautiful small sandy beaches. One is right next to the center and the other along the coastal road towards El Portet. This is ideal for swimming and water sports. Both beaches also have the coveted Blue Flag. The area Javea to Altea has been named the healthiest area in Europe by WWF. When a beach has the blue flag it means that the beach and water are clean, there is supervision, as well as a toilet and access for the disabled. Because of the mountain ridges, this area is located in a bowl, giving it an Australian maritime climate. This means that there are less extreme fluctuations in temperatures and the winters are therefore not extremely cold and the summers are not extremely hot.

Costa Blanca

In the Costa Blanca, a house with a sea view is not scarce. There are plenty of them for sale here! The Costa Blanca (which means "white coast" in Spanish) is located in the South-East of Spain and between the towns of Denia and Pilar de la Horadada. Most people think that this name is derived from the white beaches, but that is not the case; the beaches there are golden yellow. The name comes from the time of the Moors; the entire coast was full of almond trees at the time and the blossom that fell on the ground made everything white. This is where the name Costa Blanca comes from.

The total length of the coast is around 250 kilometers and has many sandy beaches. For the warmth one no longer has to travel to the South of Spain (contrary to what everyone thinks), because the Costa Blanca (especially the part of Javea-Altea) lies in a bowl between the sea and the mountains which causes it that there are no major differences in summers and winters.

If you like the things below, then Costa Blanca is for you.

  • Great food and drinks
  • Location on the coast
  • Culture
  • Nice people
  • Beautiful beaches and blue sea
  • Nice and relaxed atmosphere
