About the town of Oliva

Oliva is located just below the town of Gandia. It has a beach length of around 10 km and the temperature is higher than 20 degrees for a large part of the year. The place consists of two parts; the beach and the historic center. In the center there is still a lot to see from Spanish history. The small and narrow streets and the fact that it is only accessible to pedestrians makes the place very atmospheric.

If you like rougher beaches then you can go to Playa Terranova or Playa Aigua Blanca.

Spain is not Spain without its holidays ...

Like in a large part of the Costa Blanca, Oliva also celebrates the feast of the Moors and Christians. During this celebration, the historical confrontation between the two cultures during the period from the 8th to the 15th century is central. The celebration of this victory is big and colorful in Oliva, among others. Fights are re-enacted and there is music, fireworks, paradas and much more. It is always celebrated on the third weekend of July.

Another important party is celebrated in the second week of January; namely San Antonio - the patron saint of pets. People take their pets to church on this public holiday. In terms of culinary activities you can enjoy delicious rice dishes and the medieval market.
